Hi there, its been a long time since we've blogged, so we thought we would give you a bit of an update. The site has been pretty busy despite the weather!!! We have felt very sorry for our little town of Hebden Bridge following the storms of last weekend, but the towns people have taken it well and really proved what a great community we have here. Many shops have re-opened and are working very hard to get things back to normal. Here at the site we missed the worst of it as we are up the hill, we even had campers staying that weekend ( a very hardy bunch).
We have started work on Betty ( the caravan named by our good friend Rowanna Lacy) she is going to be very cosy and cute. If you are interested in staying in the van let us know and we will sort out the bed and a firepit for your stay. THats all for now hopefully i will post again before the end of the season... but i am not promising anything.

nearly there
Well we have had all hands on deck the past few weeks, some lovely trellis and steps have been put in. Then we've got a new loo and shower and reception area, i'm hoping that there are lots of people up at site today moving the caravan to the other side of the field. We are planning to tidy the van up and rent it out if anyone fancies a night in the van? Looking forward to sophie getting back from her honeymoon ready for the open weekend on the 1st April. yippee

New year new loo
We've been up to see where our new loo could be tonight, drove upto the site in the snow to check out what could be a combination of reception loo and kitchen. Not sure yet what we're going to do, but felt exciting seeing a new project unfolding for the site. Will keep you posted, might even put some pics on this year if we suss out how to do it!!

Morning campers
It's been a while since we've updated, we've been very very busy. We are full every weekend at the moment even though it has not been glorious weather our campers are hardy and happy on the whole. We've met so many lovely people, such a diverse lot. So far we reckon our first season is going pretty well and we are both enjoying having the site. I think the highlights have been the brilliant produce from the blackshawhead food network, fruit, veg, pies even cheese at one point. The weekend we had bell tents with bunting, kids in fancy dress, sunshine and happy campers. My son and his friend caught trout in the local river, picking bilberries and meeting lots of new people all the reasons for starting a campsite in the first place. Baby number two wanting attention so am signing off, will try a bit more frequency with the old blog. Bye for now.

Phone sorted, getting busy with the strimmer.
Phone sorted now, turns out I was over enthusiastic with the new grass cutting things and actually cut the phone line, whoops.... Have now got a new line for the strimmer that was kindly donated by Alison, had a go with it tonight not a good idea in sandals, but very very effective of nettles and other annoying weeds. Had a really lovely group up camping and walking last night, they were doing a charity walk and seemed really up for it and jolly. Had a rather interesting tale from two campers a few weeks ago who actually followed the sat nav up the bridle way.... I actually can't believe they made it in their little corsa. Anyway, we are going to get handy with some more signs and recommend no body tries it again. Sophie has really enjoyed herself with the laminator so any excuse to laminate a bit more. I walk round the site trying to spot the new laminated signs, oh my days are so rewarding... :)

Phone troubles
I have by accident cut the phone line to the caravan on site so we have no phone line, people can contact us on 01422 844334 or 01422 844417. Very stupid on my behalf... Will try and fix it first thing in the mOrning.
